This event is presented in partnership between the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International along with other animal welfare organizations, businesses and individuals.
It's purpose is to create awareness around the importance of spaying or neutering pets, as well as feral cats and street dogs, in order to reduce the growing number of animals who are homeless or brought to shelters where many are euthanized.
Events have included low- and no-cost spay/neuter clinics, providing life-saving veterinary services for low-income families, fundraisers to benefit spay/neuter programs, and educational efforts spreading the message about the importance of spaying and neutering pets.To find out how you can make a difference visit World Spay Day Event Portal
