Miss Kizz is relentless when she wants me to do something for her (and by that I mean give her something to put in her mouth). She is also an old and overweight cat so I try to remain in control so she doesn't overeat. Along with her younger brother she gets fresh dry food in the morning, a bit of canned food mid morning, a teeny top up of fresh food at three (I call this our coffee break), and a bit of dry food top up before bed. They also get fresh water every time. They don't need the top up of the dry food but they like to think they are getting something new so I put a few new ones on top.
Sunny doesn't like the canned food but Kizzie loves it and she has a hard time waiting for it. Some times she will begin pestering me an hour before I want to give it to her. She follows me all over the house meowing at me and I start to become annoyed. It usually goes like this "meow" "no" "meow, meow" "no" "meow, meow, meow" "Kizzie no!!" That usually settles it - or so I think.
What do you think about raw food (meat/chicken/fish) for dogs and cats? I am not sure if it is a good thing for my pets or not. The industry seems to have folks convinced that their raw meat is different in some very special ways compared to the pet owner buying it a grocery store and preparing it at home. I know this because that was the answer I got when I asked "why couldn't pet owners just do this themselves at home?" I doubt my cats would eat raw food if I put it down for them anyway but I just wonder what impact does a steady diet of raw meat have on a pet's overall health?
I'm certain there are good arguments on both sides. What do you think?

Yesterday my cats slept for the better part of 14 hours straight. They got up briefly a couple of times to have a bit of food or water then went right back to bed - my bed. Any time I needed to go in my room I was careful not to disturb them. When I went in to get dressed I pulled my clothes on standing up rather than sitting on the bed, wobbling all over the place and nearly falling over. This is something we all do as pet lovers isn't it? If the little darlings are laying on our favourite chair, we go sit some place else. If they are sleeping on our bed the only thing we can do is admire how darn adorable they look when they are sleeping. We are helpless against their cuteness. My two must be up and active in the night if they are sleeping that much during the day. Hopefully they are not getting into too much trouble.
Until next time
